Zombie Print Book

Thought you guys might like to see my little zombie art book.

[Television] The Walking Dead - Season 7, Episode 2 "The Well"

Absolutely loved this episode to be honest.

I have had a fair few people tell me it was boring after the first episode. Well, I'm sorry, but you cannot have killings like that every week. It's unrealistic. That would not happen in the zombie apocalypse, and if it did EVERYONE would be dead by now.
If anything, we deserved a toned down episode after that blow (pardon the pun) from last week. Episode 1 ripped our hearts out, we need time to repair and come back from that, right?

Also, how could you consider episode 2 to be boring? Did you not see that beautiful tiger, Shiva? We were introduced to the amazing character, Ezekiel and his tiger, yet that was boring? I think Ezekiel is definitely an instant favourite of mine. He looks exactly like to comic book and he is just so cool! I love how in the first episode he is in he completely opens up to Carol and we see (what I presume people who have not read the comics would assume) that he is not an arrogant man who calls himself 'King' - there is so much more to him. He seems honest and genuine so far and I really, really like his character. I love Shiva, of course, she is so majestic and really done well with CGI.

Carol is slightly annoying me, is she going a bit loopy? Probably.

I think Morgan seems happier in the Kingdom as opposed to Alexandria.

Can't wait for the next episode!!

The Walking Dead Graphic Novel Volume #26, Call to Arms.

I was starting to get a bit bored with the Walking Dead graphic novels - shocker, I know. But this volume. Wow. Just wow. It really brought my love for the comics flooding back. The story was brilliant and not boring at all.

I'm going to say *spoilers* here... so, you've been warned.

Rick is getting weak and I hate that... he's just pathetic and useless. He has been beaten up too many times and he is just (physically) far beyond his years. It sucks. He is no longer the hero we all loved and it is upsetting.
Carl is growing up and becoming leader material.
Eugene has found someone on the radio he fixed... I'm looking forward to this story line - I hope it's a new bunch of people.
Michonne seems to be coming out of her depression.
Andrea is cool as always... as is Maggie.
And then there's Negan...
Well his character has (sort of) turned the tables and he seems... cool? I can't believe I'm saying that. Although, what he did to Alpha, is this going to bring the war with the whisperers even closer??

[Graphic Novel] iZombie, Repossession, Volume 4

Volume four is the last of the series and well, I was slightly disappointed.
I read that due to the series being cancelled the writers were rushed to complete the fourth volume. Ultimately, rushing the ending and making me feel like it wasn't on par with the previous three volumes.

Yes, I am saying that I did not like the ending of iZombie. Gutted.

I thought the whole concept was absolutely brilliant. I loved the characters, I thought they were perfect, funny and very well thought out. The idea of the zombie telling the story, again, it's an original idea with huge potential. I just do not understand how it got cancelled, I really enjoyed everything. The art work is beautiful, too.

Such a solid basis for a top notch comic. Thus, I feel the cancellation and sudden rush for a conclusion hindered the overall ending, which I feel could have been so much different. It felt like a bit of a cop out. It was odd, and although it slightly made sense, it also did not.

I would recommend this series though, brilliant read with excellent characters, plot, and art work.

[Television] Fear The Walking Dead - Season 1

Right so I didn't do a post episode per episode because I wasn't sure how this series was going to be. Low and behold I watched the whole series in one sitting - I was hooked. All six episodes smashed in one go.

It's based in the same universe as The Walking Dead but from the beginning. I love this because in the Walking Dead with Rick being in a coma we were thrown straight into the apocalypse. With is series we see how things started and how the military tried to get involved. It's interesting to see reactions and what people would do to survive. It makes you seriously think about what you would do at the start of the apocalypse.

Would you believe it?
Would you think the army could control it?
Would you think the government had your best interests at heart?
How far would you go to protect your family?
What possessions would you want to save?

It's brilliant and thought provoking.

Many reviews said it was slow but to me that shows lack of imagination and lack of patience. Slow is good, it's real. Life is not constant action and this is based on what REAL people would do.

Brilliant stuff. No spoilers here. Cool.

[Graphic Novel] iZombie, Six Feet Under and Rising, Volume 3

New characters are introduced - The Dead Presidents. They seem kind of badass and cool, but I'm not 100% sure. The story is opening up and becoming more complicated and slightly tough to follow, although when you do follow, it's pretty good.
Gwen starts to remember how she became a zombie and this is pretty interesting.
I believe I have said this before, but I do love the art work.

[Graphic Novel] The Extinction Parade Volume 2: War by Max Brooks

I must be honest, I really like the idea of this series. Vampires think the zombie apocalypse is great as they aren't targeted, and they live a consequence free life as civilization falls. But they then realise their food source is on the verge of becoming extinct.
However, I really do feel like I can't connect with the two main women in this graphic novel. I find the story something that I don't remember much after I have read it.

Vampires do what they do best, and kill with their brute force and extreme strength. Turns out zombie blood isn't good when it comes in contact with vampire blood and the vampires feel that they are fighting a lost cause. They start to realise that this is not enough and that they need to use weapons. A sacred vampire army appear in order to save the day as the vampires fail at trying to eliminate the zombies with their bare hands by punching and kicking their brains. They find weaponry hard to figure out, as it is not something they are accustom to. Saying this, I wouldn't know how to use a gun either to be honest. Let's hope with some good tuition the fight can carry on.

New skills must be learnt and trust must be created in order to save the human race.

The Walking Dead Graphic Novel Volume #25, No Turning Back.

For a while now the zombies have taken a seat on the back burner. For the past few volumes they have not really been considered a threat, and I guess it just reflects that people are living their every day life like this now. People have gotten used to the apocalypse and this is how they are going to live. Zombies are not new or shocking anymore. Thus, the story has taken a different route now. After the Governor and Negan, the Whisperers are upon the group and they are the main threat now. Humans are a bigger threat than the walking dead.

Rick seems to be getting on a bit now. He seems weak, and vulnerable and his leadership is often questioned. He has aged relentlessly and I am wondering how many more wars he can fight. In this volume, he turns to Negan for advice on leadership. How things change eh?

[Television] The Walking Dead - Season 7, Episode 1 "The Day Will Come When You Won't Be"

MAJOR SPOILER ALERT
IF YOU HAVEN'T WATCHED IT THEN STOP READING

WHAT. WAS. THAT?!

If you have been following me for a while you can probably tell that I love Abraham and he is my favourite character of all time. I was totally in denial. I had a gut feeling he would go, but I kept shifting my thoughts onto Glenn. To me, it was between Abraham, Glenn and Daryl.

Okay, so, Abraham gets it straight in the head and manages his last one liner of the show - "suck my nuts." You tell him, Abe. I was gutted, of course. I mean, he wanted a family, he was bonding with Sasha, everything seemed to be going right for him.

However, I thought, 'at least Glenn gets to see his baby' (if Maggie is well and it all works out). But nope. That glimmer of hope was snatched away from me rather rapidly. So there's me, crying into my cereal and then Glenn says "I will find you" ??? Why not kick me in the face while you're at it. To be honest, I blame Daryl for Glenn's death. He should not have punched Negan in the face,

The table scene with a pregnant Sasha and a the glowing faces of new parents Maggie and Glenn hit me right in the feels. That was sob-my-heart-out material. They were supposed to grow old together, it wasn't like they died by accident. Their lives were cruelly snatched away by a bloke who looks slightly like my dad.

Negan is a mug. The writers are even meaner for taking two precious characters away from us. This was a tricky decision. It delivered the shock factor, and yes, Negan is the man that he was so hyped up to be - they really have portrayed him that way successfully (a cruel, cold-hearted, bumhole), But, Glenn has been there since episode one (or two?) it's a major decision that may have crap consequences.

By the way, I really thought Carl's arm was a goner.

I am still in shock, and could rant for ages. What an episode. How are they going to keep up to that standard?

Containment - Episode 4 "With Silence and Tears"

Bit of a slower episode to be honest,

Lex's girlfriend manages to make a phone and call him for all of 5 seconds.

Pregnant girl's boyfriend makes an agreement with Theo Green. Theo Green gets him inside in exchange for information. Turns out his two friends on the inside have died of the virus.

People are scared and Lex is worried about making Moral decisions.

Well.. let's see what happens tomorrow shall we?

Good episodes so far, I didn't expect much but the budget is good and it has potential.

Containment - Episode 3, "Be Angry At The Sun"

Things are now worse than then originally seemed. More people are dying than ever and are not believing this terrorism story.

Pregnant girl's mum is getting harassed and her shop is getting robbed because she is putting up food prices ten fold. *Eye Roll*

The supposed 48 hour lock down is turning into three, four days...

A reporter on the outside has people on the inside who are sending him videos and pictures of the dead and what it's like to actually be living in this space. He is then posting this information online and scaring just about everybody. His name is Theo Green. As a result of this, all internet connection is shut down and nobody can make calls in or out.

Bit harsh right? If anything that's going to cause more problems...

Containment - Episode 2, "I To Die You To Live"

Patient zero (Syrian man) is found and he dies. The show starts off with a gruesome autopsy of him, carried out by the doctor previously mentioned. He discovers that the virus is not airborne and is passed through bodily fluids such as kissing, sneezing, blood, etc.

His whole family is taken into quarantine and everyone that they have been in contact with follows suit. Great - the whole virus is fully contained. But wait, oh dear, the Syrian guys kid brother has a girlfriend, where is she? Luckily she is within the borders of containment, but it turns out shes at a house party...

Now this is where the young pregnant couple and the party girl connect - the young pregnant girl's mate was at the same party, and happened to give the pregnant girl a kiss on the cheek - oh no, where is this going?

In episode one we saw an elderly man bringing test rats into the hospital that the teacher (as mentioned in post 1) is taking her students in to to cheer up the elderly. The teacher then meets the doctor. However, this elderly man turns out to be pregnant girls granddad - keeping up? Now the girls pal is confirmed sick and is in quarantine in the hospital.

The hospital lock down is lifted, but the whole containment area has been confined double, in order to contain 40,000 people indefinitely.

Poor Lex's girlfriend is still in the confined zone.

End of episode...

Containment - Episode 1, "Pilot"

I got the impression this new show was about zombies, I think I'm wrong however it is about a similar virus. The only different is, is that is 100% fatal.

It started in Atlanta... I think they could have changed that to be honest. Somewhere new, perhaps? I guess we can see where they got their inspiration from.
From the first episode it appears to obviously be some sort of propaganda. A Syrian man is smuggled in from the Middle East, has this odd, new, genetically altered virus, goes to a hospital and spreads this virus. I guess some sort of bio-terrorism.

It shows the perspective from two couples - a young couple and the girl is pregnant. A middle-aged couple, Lex is a police officer and his girlfriend works with computers (a bit more high-tech than I make it sound). There is also a teacher and a doctor.

By the end of the episode the whole section is contained, hence, "Containment" and the couples are separated.

The Walking Dead Season 6 Finale

This has taken me ages to write because I have literally had no words to say about what the season finale had to offer. It has taken me a few days to get my head around what I watched on Monday.

I thought the episode was severely tense, my hands were clammy and my heart was racing - something that doesn't occur often when I'm watching a television show.. I was genuinely worried about the characters, especially as there were masses of Saviours on every route towards the Hill Top. I was worried about Maggie, she really isn't looking good at the moment - and this is story line is differing from the comics.

Furthermore, the scene with Eugene taking the RV was very emotional, it was almost hinting as if he was possibly going to die? Although, I'm not sure.

That moment when they walked through the forest and were surrounded by Saviours was awful. Rick's face was so dramatic I don't know how he kept that look going.

The thing that got me is, not knowing who died. I feel this is a real cop out move by the writers and I think the fans deserve more. Perhaps the writers don't even know who died yet - but I think they're taking the viewers for granted. Having to wait until October to find out is really unfair. I get that apparently the death affects many characters and the way they evolve, but they could still carry on the story line with us knowing who died.

Then comes the next question.. who died?

I saw a fan theory that drew up the scene to try and predict who died by what the viewers could see from where Negan was standing, they concluded that it was Michonne. To be honest, I wouldn't be surprised if it was her. I feel, however, that it was Daryl, then my next guess would be Glenn. I hear Daryl's character is causing a bit of grief for the writers as he is not in the comics, and also I have noticed that Norman Reedus has a new television show AND is appearing in many films. Daryl's character is boring me at the moment, although, I feel if he died a lot of people would stop watching. To be fair, as long as it isn't Abraham (which some people think it is) I'll be okay. The scene was just like the comics, air-go pointing to Glenn. Though it would definitely not surprise me if the writers changed who died.

[Television] The Walking Dead - Season 6, Episode 15. "East"

SPOILERS

It was nice to see a few more familiar faces this episode with most characters cropping up in places.

I think Carol is on the verge of a breakdown and I hope she isn't being led to her fate in the comics - suicide. That would really suck, they have done brilliantly with her character since season one and I think they need to keep more original characters alive. You could tell killing those guys really got to her, but for now we still do not know if she is hurt.

Maggie is worrying me. In the comics she has the baby, but I hope in the TV show she doesn't miscarry as that would be absolutely awful. I think Enid is conveying Sophia's role in the comics as Maggie and Glenn's adopted daughter - sort of.

I think Rick is starting to see some truth in Morgan's ways - you could see it in his face when Morgan told him about keeping that Wolf alive.

I hope Glenn and Michonne get out okay, although I'm wondering how on earth it's going to happen. I really hope Glenn doesn't meet his comic book fate. A fate, however, that I feel will be passed on to Daryl. We aren't sure if Daryl is dead, but we are pretty certain that was his blood from the gunshot. I think he will survive this though, and will later on be subject to the wrath of Negan and Lucille. I feel the character isn't really progressing as much as the others, and I've also heard Norman Reedus is getting into films, which suggests he is the big character that will leave the show. This, however, will cause an uproar. No doubt about it.

[Television] The Walking Dead - Season 6, Episode 14. "Twice As Far"

SPOILERS

Okay, so I do feel bad for Rosita but I feel one night stands in a such a small community will not make her feel better at all.

Eugene is starting to pipe up a bit and being mean to Abraham when really, he wouldn't be alive without him.

Denise. Poor, poor, Denise. I absolutely love her. She was becoming one of my favourite characters in the show. Her and Tara were my favourite couple. And the way it happened.. saying how she should have told Tara she loved her - heartbreaking. I did shed a few tears for Denise. She died the way Abraham did in the comics. I'm glad it wasn't Abraham but I'm so gutted they left that fate to her.

Where is Carol off to?

[Television] The Walking Dead - Season 6, Episode 13. "The Same Boat"

This episode went way too quickly for my liking.

I wonder what has gotten into Carol? I think Morgan has got into her head.

"We're all Negan" is kind of annoying, however, I get it. Imagine someone coming into your base, or your home, and shooting up everyone you know, what would you do with Carol and Maggie? It's pure retaliation.

That girls finger stuck out to me, or should I say, lack of. Just shows what a nasty piece of work Negan is.

Apologies

I don't think my picture uploads are working properly - will try and sort this out! Sorry!

[Television] The Walking Dead - Season 6, Episode 12. "Not Tomorrow Yet"

SPOILERS

I adore Carol and her cookies, and when she put one on Sam's grave I felt so sad for her - I bet she loved the kid really. Her and Morgan really need to sort it out.

Abraham ended it with Rosita which I'm definitely gutted about, Sasha hasn't really shown that much interest so it could have been a big mistake.

When Glenn made his first kill of a human my heart was racing and I really did feel for him. It was a horrible situation and I really thought he would buckle. You could see the devastation in his eyes - even more so when he saw those pictures on the wall which were absolutely vile and made me feel ill.

Did anyone notice the Johnny Depp cameo?
[The three zombie heads that supposedly look like Gregory - the one on the right was cast with inspiration from Johnny Depp]

Tara declared her love for Denise which was lovely and you can soooooo tell Tara was pregnant in real life when she was filming this. Hiding her belly with dishes and big jumpers - does not work.

Well done to Gabriel. Knew they kept him alive for a reason.

I thought it was a brilliant episode, absolutely brilliant so far. I'm worried for Maggie and Carol because those women seem ridiculously ruthless. Eugh.

They're getting more badass as the episodes go on - a little too much, perhaps?

[The Walking Dead] Abraham and Morgan Funko Pop!

So my other half got me the new Abraham Funko Pop! Which I love! I probably mention it on every blog post but if you haven't realised by now ABRAHAM IS MY FAVOURITE AND I LOVE HIM.

AND he also got me Morgan! How cool is Morgan?? The pops are cool - so glad they have new characters.

[Television] The Walking Dead - Season 6, Episode 11 "Knots Untie"

SPOILERS

I thought this was a really good episode.
I like how the beginning was Abraham based, although I'm not sure how I feel about them following the comics and making him a possible cheater - it's going to suck real bad.

I can't stand watching Michonne and Rick, I love both characters but it feels like I'm watching a brother and sister get it on - it's weird and cringy.

With the group reaching the Hilltop and meeting Gregory I'm feeling as if they series is moving way too fast compared to the comics. They are really catching up now - what happens if they start to surpass the comics?

Gregory seems like an idiot and I don't like him very much.
The Hilltop seems much smaller than I imagined. I can see that they are involving Maggie more which suggests that she will be running it like in the comics. Also, the suggestion regarding Negan and wiping them out, and Maggie's following response about losing something makes me worry about Glenn's fate soon - only because it was Maggie that mentioned it.

That coat Rick Grime's wears has sure had a lot of blood on it from many different people. It was brilliant when that woman punched him and Michonne knocked her to the floor, badass Michonne strikes again - love her.

I almost cried at that baby scan - I am so happy for them but so worried about Glenn!

You can tell the next few episodes will be BIG and I bet this season ends on a massive cliff-hanger.

Saturday 27 February 2016

[Television] Z Nation - Season 1, Episode 8.

SPOILERS

As the heard, or zunami, passes through the nearest town the gang hold up in a mortuary. The zombies are trying awfully hard to get in so their only option is to hide in the morgue fridges. They break in and slowly pass through.

Murphy has recently realised he can walk amongst the dead without fear of getting eaten, he apparently does not give off the same smell as the normal human would. As the gang are waiting for freedom, Murphy goes looking for some supplies.

Citizen Z aka Simon, has a weird hallucination of a Russian astronaut crashing to his base from the International Space Station, turns out the madness was actually a strange way of his subconscious telling him that he and his dog were lacking oxygen - the dog is thankfully okay and I sighed with relief.
Citizen Z refers to the year '3AZ' so we now know it has been 3 years since the outbreak.

No sign of Addy and her boyfriend.

[Television] Z Nation - Season 1, Episode 7.

Bit of a slower episode, the gang finds a group of people out in Kansas who believe they are completely separate from the zombies as all of the 'z's have headed to the cities'. They're in search for a new car but they have to win their way to a new super gun through a zombie shooting range, a gun that they then hoped to swap for a decent vehicle. Addy and her boyfriend get separated from the others as a massive zombie hoard is headed their way - a 'zunami'. Zombies started filtering through and now it's time to get the hell out of there.

[Television] Z Nation - Season 1, Episode 6.

The team whole up in what seems to be a sanctuary until a religious nut ruins everything by claiming the apocalypse is the second coming and believe that zombies are the 'resurrected'. Murphy almost saves the day which ends up in an untimely death of one of our favourite  characters.

Shaun and Ed Mystery Mini Figures

Got these cool little Shaun and Ed figures the other day. They come in blind bags and I was not that lucky so unfortunately I had to buy them off of someone but I got a pretty good deal on the pair.
Needed these for my zombie collection and I love them - aren't they brilliant?

[Film] Resident Evil: Afterlife (2010) Review

Loved this one.

I felt the amount of zombie coverage was brilliant. I love seeing a good hoard of zombies surrounding buildings.

The Executioner is a scary beast, right? Surprised his arms were not SO much bigger due to lugging that thing around with him.

Never trust the Umbrella Company.

Milla Jovovich is brilliant and suits her role perfectly.

I wonder if they got the idea of the prison from The Walking Dead comics? Possibly, maybe, who knows.

Random Sons of Anarchy moment but Kim Coates was just like Tigg in this film - hilarious. Apparently the director hated him because he was trying to be too funny so they cut him out of most the film- haha!

[Television] The Walking Dead - Season 6, Episode 10 "The New World"

SPOILERS

Nice to see Jesus appear - I hope he's just as good as he is in the comics. All of that food and supplies absolutely wasted though. If the comics are anything to go by I wonder if that was the stash for Negan?

I'm loving Denise and Tara at the moment - Denara? It's adorable.

I see Carl has healed well - shame. Just kidding. Enid is coming out of her shell more, too.

Where was Abe?

THE LAST BIT WITH THE KISS (& more I guess) WHATTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT?? Although considering in the comics Rick is with Andrea, Michonne, too, is a long standing character so I guess it sort of makes sense? Can't believe it though!

I want next week to be here so badly!

Monday 15 February 2016

[Television] The Walking Dead - Season 6, Episode 9 "No Way Out"

SPOILERS

Wow. WHAT AN EPISODE!
There was so much going on!

Firstly, well done Daryl right? Bazooka'd those badboys hilariously.

Abraham was looking so hot.

When I was watching it I was thinking "sod walking through all of those zombies" - absolute madness. Then it was like "MOMMY" and then it was like noooo Sam you absolute mug! Oh you got bitten, OH YOU KILLED YOUR MOTHER THAT'S NICE. Ohhh the heartbreak in Rick's face and the flashbacks - how sweet. Then your idiot brother tries to shoot Rick and Carl and then it's like YES MICHONNE - we can always count on you - then OH NO WAY CARL HAHA (I hate you so I don't care). Although he survives in the comics so it's cool.

Did anyone else feel guilty for that Wolf guy? I did a bit, I think Morgan was right.

Then when the whole team gets involved in taking on all those zombies - what a proud moment. Seriously thought Glenn was a goner but then SEXY AS HELL ABRAHAM SAVES HIM BECAUSE HE IS GOD. I love him.

BRILLIANT EPISODE - WRITING IN CAPITALS BECAUSE I CANNOT CONTAIN MY EXCITEMENT.

Saturday 13 February 2016
