The Walking Dead Graphic Novel Volume #24, Life And Death.

Just when I thought the past few books were getting slow, repetitive and boring, I'm pulled straight back in with this banger of an issue.

The Whisperers are showing their true colours, Negan is making me question everything about him and I'm wondering how much more can Rick actually take.
Carl, of course, is being an annoying little brat who needs to sort his life out.

Both 'towns' try and revert back to some sort of normalcy from the pre-apocalyptic lives - much to the distaste of The Whisperers.

[Television] The Walking Dead - Season 6 - Episode 5.

Now we know who was shouting "OPEN THE GATES" - but how the bloody hell did they run that fast through all those walkers.

The people of Alexandria are starting to worry about Glenn, Nicholas, Abraham, Daryl and Sasha. Glenn and Nicholas are presumed dead but there is still hope amongst the community.

The walkers are piling in around the defences, hopefully the walls will hold. The people of Alexandria seem to have been living without a clue the whole time the apocalypse has been upon them. They are not ready to fight the walkers, despite how much they want to, and how much they need to.

For once we see more than five seconds of Maggie and her storyline will pull on your heart strings, no doubt about it. It makes us want Glenn home even more. If you've read the comics you could probably have seen this coming.

Oh, and Rick seems to be getting a bit confident...

I hope Abraham is okay. I love him.

[Television] The Walking Dead - Season 6 - Episode 4.

*Spoilers*

Apologies for the late post.

This 90 minute flash-back episode regarding Morgan was amazing. He has been around since episode one of the first season, yet, we've not seen that much of him. I love his character and I love how they make him crop up now and again.

In this episode we learnt what Morgan went through, and how he has become who he is today.

Eastman is, in my opinion, one of the best characters so far. Who would have thought that a man in one episode would have such a profound effect and impact on the viewer.

Also, I love Tabitha the goat - only in one episode and still has more fans than Lori...what.

[Television] The Walking Dead - Season 6, Episode 2.

Cool episode! Absolutely loved it!

But now I feel like no character is safe and they will write out anyone at any time.

How is Rick going to get out of that? And his hand? I hope he doesn't chop it off like they did in the comics.

Also, there is no way THEY can have been written out. I feel the producers respect that character a lot more to send THEM out like that. I've heard a few conspiracy theories but we shall see. Intestines aren't in your chest so they clearly belonged to the other character. I reckon THE CHARACTER will slide under the bin and I think THEY will use walker blood and guts like what happened in Season 1 to get out of that mess.

[Television] The Walking Dead - Season 6, Episode 2.

I watched this the other day but I've been so busy that it is only now that I've had the time to write this.

What. An. Episode. It was violent, it was gory, it was amazing. I'm so worried about the future of Alexandria it is unreal! Of course, I guess, if they stay in Alexandria for long it'll be 'boring' (I don't think so, but the general population does) and people will start to lose interest. Although, in the comics they are still there to this date. So who knows? Could go either way.

I'm really getting fed up of the Wolves and I'm very, very curious about that Enid. I reckon there's more to her than meets the eye, despite getting a bit of background information on her.

OH, AND, IT ALL MAKES SENSE NOW... This episode was set at the same time as last weeks episode so now we know what that car horn was all about!! I knew the wolves were going to come and get crazy in this season!!

SDCC Headless Hershel & Bloody Bandaged Governor Funko Pop!

Got two of my grail Funko Pop! pieces the other day.

I've always wanted the bloody bandaged governor with blood splatter as I feel the blood splatter is most appropriate.

Also got SDCC Headless Hershel! Got them both for a bargain price and I am so happy it is unreal. I absolutely love them and love how my exclusive collection of Walking Dead pops is coming along.

The Waking Dead 7" Vinyl Figures

Last week I had a look in HMV in Oxford Street and they had this really cool Walking Dead 7" Prison Guard/Riot Gear Zombie Vinyl Figure, it was £19.99 but reduced to £9.99 I thought "bargain" and swooped. I had a ten pounds off voucher so I used that to buy this really cool figure!

I didn't really know much about these figures, I've seen them before but not really took much notice. But when I saw it in real life, and not just a picture on screen, I just fell in love and bought it.

Then, I did my homework. They are made by Funko (just like the Pop! range) and I believe there are 4 vinyl figures in this range, Daryl Dixon, Daryl Dixon (bloody version), RV Walker and the Prison Guard Walker.

To my luck, I went into www.lairoftheoctopus.co.uk and they had a sale on these exact figures. I managed to get Bloody Daryl Dixon which is a Walker Stalker Convention Exclusive (2013) for just £9.98!!! I also grabbed the RV Walker for a ridiculous price of £6.98! The RV Walker is one of my favourite zombies so I'm glad they decided to make him in this range. They all sold pretty quickly so I'm so pleased I got in there first.

Normally these figures are £20+ so for the prices I got them at I'm a seriously happy girl!

Normally, I don't get doubles of characters. For instance, with my Walking Dead Pop! collection I only have one of each character. However, there are only 4 of these figures (with the pops there are so many, that's why I stuck to one of each character) so I'm really tempted to complete the set and get normal Daryl Dixon... Well, hopefully one day!

I love these figures so much and I think they compliment my collection greatly.

[Television] Z Nation - Season 1, Episode 5.

The team cut short with the chopper and end up residing in Roberta's pre-apocalypse house. This is due to a freak storm on the way and the group need shelter immediately. Roberta is giving it everything she has in trying to find her husband.

Murphy gets a new haircut, but could this be the start of a possible liability?

[Television] Z Nation - Season 1, Episode 4.

Stoned zombies and nut job generals, the team are trying to find a chopper with the help of Citizen Z.

Citizen Z has a weird/cute crush on Addy, 10k is coming out of his shell to help us learn about his background and Doc manages to get stuck in an air vent!!

[Television] Z Nation - Season 1, Episode 3.

The biker gang end up being some weird, cannibal and prostitute biker gang who try to take back Cassandra into their group. It appears she ran away from these ghastly people and they managed to hunt her down. In the process of finding Cassandra they kidnap Addy.

With the help of Citizen Z the group manage to rescue both girls and start their journey to California to take Murphy (Patient 0) back to the lab.

[Television] Z Nation - Season 1, Episode 2.

This was a good episode.

Citizen Z funds a husky companion.
The gang are in the look out for petrol and happen to find it in a zombie infested area. An odd biker gang has their sights on one of the women in the group, ultimately following her and causing grief.

[Television] The Walking Dead - Season 6, Episode 1.

I appreciated the fact that this was 1 hour 20 minutes instead of the regular hour.

At first I started off a bit confused, but, when the flash backs started to happen, it all made sense. I liked the idea of the past being in black and white, and I also felt that they managed to merge two episodes into one by playing them side by side sort of thing. It made the storyline much more interesting, rather than having the past as one episode and the present as another.

Loving the new character, Heath, who looks astonishingly like the comics, however, I felt this episode was slow. Slow, in a good way though. Trying to divert a heard away from camp in a few minutes is obviously not realistic. I like slow, though. Because I feel too much has happened too quickly in each season - that's why I appreciate the slower episodes.

The Walking Dead - Daryl Dixon Black And White Funko Pop! (Walmart Exclusive)

Wanted this little guy for a while now and managed to get him for a steal of £17 on a group online.

He's a Walmart Exclusive so he's all the way from the United States. Pretty cool.

I love how he's black and white as it sort of pays homage to Daryl Dixon because he's not in the comics, this way, it sorts of includes him in it - well, that's the way I interpreted it.

I love this Pop! and he looks so cool with my collection.

[Graphic Novel] The Extinction Parade by Max Brooks

In the past we've already dealt with the idea of zombies vs. vampires. However, Extinction Parade offers a whole new concept when it comes to involving vampires and zombies within the same book.

Zombies don't 'see' vampires as technically they aren't human. Brilliant! This means the vampires can walk straight through a crowd of zombies completely unscathed. But... What's a vampires main food source? Yes.. Humans... And what is currently on the verge of extinction... Yep, humans!

Now the vampires have to figure out a way to keep their food source alive and away from this parasitic creature that feeds upon the same flesh of the living that the vampires want.

How are they vampires going to deal with this one?!

Guess you gotta read it!

[Film] Mimesis (2011) Review

One word: Brilliant.

A very, very original film. I don't really want to say too much in case I give it away, there is in an immense twist within this story, which, I guess, could be worked out quite early on in the film.

It's a definite homage to 'Night of the Living Dead' where a group of (mostly) teenagers end up in the plot of 'Night of the Living Dead.' I don't do it much justice, it really is a brilliant film.

The Walking Dead - Sheriff Rick Grimes Funko Pop!

Also for my birthday, my friends got me the Sheriff Rick Funko Pop! As my boyfriend says - "the one who started it all."

Talk about nostalgia! A throw back from the first series! Ties in nicely though!

The Walking Dead - Zombie Merle Funko Pop!

My birthday was on July 29th and for it my boyfriend got me my Grail Funko Pop Piece! You know? That funko you would do anything for?!

My Grail Piece was (and still is) The Walking Dead Zombie Merle Funko Pop!

He's quite pricey so when my other half got him I was so excited! I cannot thank him enough to have gotten me my ultimate piece to add to my collection. I've wanted him for years and now he's finally mine. Words cannot explain the happiness of the zombie collector!

Look at him! He's gorgeous! Need to get a pop protector for him!

Resident Evil Anti-Virus Replica/Pendant

I loved the T-Virus so much I caved and I bought the Anti-Virus... It was only a matter of time!

Link to more detailed T-Virus review/post: http://thestrollingunwell.blogspot.co.uk/2015/07/resident-evil-t-virus-replicapendant.html

New iPod Touch With Zombie Quote Engraving!!

I'm super excited to say that I managed to get a new iPod Touch! Not only do I have this amazing piece of technology as it is, but I'm also majorly happy because I have gotten one of my favourite quotes engraved on it, and - you guessed it - it's from a zombie film!

The quote comes from George A. Romero's second zombie film 'Dawn of the Dead'. Or, the bible. Depends who you are.

Check out how cool it is!

'When there is no more room in hell the dead will walk the earth'

Case with Abraham Ford from 'The Walking Dead' on it - my favourite character!

[Graphic Novel] iZombie: uVampire, Volume 2

A great follow on from volume one. Gwen eats the brain of someone she used to know in her previous life, which ultimately complicate things for her when it comes to helping them out with their unfinished business. Ghost girl Ellie learns new tricks with how to use her situation to the fullest of its potential and the were-terrier's grandad well.. Also manages to take on a new form.

Brilliant second volume. Definitely get into this series. The art work is great, the characters are riveting and the idea is completely original. I love this comic series.

[Television] Z Nation - Season 1, Episode 1

This series starts off brilliantly, death row inmates are being used as test subjects to see if they can find a cure for the zombie outbreak. One guy manages to survive a zombie attack and thus, we follow a group of people trying to keep this inmate safe and get him to a high tech facility in order to possibly make more strains of this 'cure'.

The gore from the start is ridiculous! And the effects are just amazing!

A definite must watch! Glad to see another zombie series on television. And, may I add, the cast are brilliant.

[Game] Telltale Games - The Walking Dead: Season One

The Apple App Store were doing this game as a free download and you also got Episode 1 for free too. I downloaded it because I heard so many good reviews on the game and, being a zombie enthusiast, I wanted to see what the fuss was about. Well, was I in for a ride.

The game consists of five episodes and one add-on extra called '400 Days.' They were doing a bundle deal, episodes 2-5 plus 400 Days for £14.99 so I opted for that, all in all saving around a fiver.

You play as the character Lee, a convicted criminal on his way to prison when the apocalypse breaks out. Ultimately meeting Clementine in Episode 1. You meet and lose many great characters along the way, but I'm not going to give the story up for those who like a surprise.

I found the game severely tense and emotional. You are given time limits on decisions that you have to make. These decisions range from menial conversation to saving someone's life. Each time you make a choice it alters the game in a different direction as a direct result and consequence of your decision.

The graphics are great, they have a comic book feel and it is easy to navigate and play. Great for a first time gamer like myself. But just as good for a pro-gamer, too.

In this game we do see some old and familiar faces from the comics and the TV Show.

I have yet to play 400 Days yet. It bridges the gap between Season 1 and Season 2. As it's an add-on and a Season in its own right, I shall write a separate post for it once I'm done.

Overall 10/10, brilliant game. I recommend it to everyone and I have already downloaded Season 2.

Zombie Survival Manual by Sean T. Page and Ian Moores

What's a zombie collector without a survival manual?

If you're looking to buy a survival guide/manual get this one.

It's absolutely brilliant. It is laid out perfectly, colourful, vivid, the illustrations are amazing and detailed. It's easy to read and easy to follow. There aren't just paragraphs after paragraphs, there are charts, diagrams, drawings. Honestly, it's fantastic.

Thought has really gone into this book too, it lists everything you need to know about a zombie apocalypse. It starts off with 'what is a zombie' and lists the types, phases, etc.
The book also covers everything from driving in the zombie world, walking in it, long distance travel, home preparation tips, historical accounts, how to cope if you have children or disabilities, survival locations, zombie combat and weapons or combat without a weapon, how to survive in groups... And the list goes on and on.

My favourite zombie survival manual, every enthusiast needs this one.

Resident Evil T-Virus Replica/Pendant

I found a really cool replica of the Resident Evil T-Virus (blue) and also the Anti-Virus (green) on eBay (same person sells on Etsy, too) and I just couldn't resist. It's more of a necklace, and the pendant is quite small, but nevertheless the pendant is just amazing. It's such a cool, original item to have and such an amazing addition to the zombie collection.

I bought the T-Virus (naturally) because as a zombie collector, of course I wanted my very own vial of the zombie virus. They are all handmade and when you tilt the vial a cool bubble effect appears from the liquid in the vial.

I'm not going to wear it as a necklace, I'm going to put it up on the wall in my zombie corner to display it and I think it will fit in perfectly!

Considering I am so happy with the T-Virus I think I'm going to bite the bullet and complete the set by buying the Anti-Virus to sit alongside it nicely.

[Graphic Novel] iZombie: Dead To The World, Volume 1

Straight away I fell in love with this graphic novel. It's easy to read and I love the art-work. For some reason, to me, this art-work feels very 90's in style which brings an element of nostalgia to the comic.

Not only does this comic have a zombie it also has ghosts, were-terriers, vampires and other sorts of mysterious 'monsters'. Some of the concepts remind me of other things, for instance, the fact that there is a group of 'monster hunters' who have been around for thousands of years trying to control and kill off the 'monsters'. This is very similar to the storyline in the film 'Jumper' but hey, it's a good film and iZombie has a great storyline.

In general, iZombie has a very original storyline, the main lady, Gwen, has to eat a brain once a month in order to suppress her urges and hunger. However, with eating these brains comes the thoughts and memories of the previous owner, very interesting.

What I loved the most was the concept of the 'undersoul' and the 'oversoul' which I haven't seen before and this creates the basis of all of the 'monsters' listed above. You'll know all about it if you decide to read it!

At the end there is a lovely image gallery from the artist Michael Allred which is a lovely touch.

This is seriously a brilliant read, straight away I was hooked. Go buy it! I've already ordered the next.

[Film] Dead Snow 2 (2014) Review

Red vs Dead, interesting concept, totally understandable, totally relevant.

Again, a sequel that I'm pretty sure I prefer to its predecessor. It's all still Scandinavian, so subtitles are still very prominent, but there are some Americans in this one, and that means the Queens is spoken! Brilliant! So we don't have to constantly pay attention to subtitles.

This film is half serious, half excruciatingly funny, with a tad of "what the hell did I just watch?!" It's gory as hell and certainly worth a watch if you love all the blood splatter, on screen kills and guts.

Nazi zombies being complete bum-holes to everyone around them, with an unfinished task that they feel the need to complete decades after the Second World War. A bit of history thrown in there and it works.

The end scene is just... There are no words.

Also, there's a scene after the credits so keep watching. Which I highly recommend you do!

[Film] Resident Evil: Extinction (2007) Review

Resident Evil: Extinction, the third film in the Resident Evil series thus far and I must say my favourite one at this point.

Similarly to the NOTLD: Aftermath graphic novels I love how Mila Jovovich plays a strong, female lead character in a very strong, male dominated franchise. Once again she plays the part brilliantly and I cannot fault her.

The introduction of super biologically enhanced zombies appears and it makes the film just that bit more on edge. Oh, and also... zombie crows. Sod that!

[Film] Shaun of the Dead (2004) Review

It's about time I reviewed this. This film was never a top priority for me and every time I went to watch it I would usually fall asleep. I really never used to give it enough credit - that has definitely changed.

However, this time, I've realised what a classic this film actually is. It's brilliant, it's funny and it's typically English.

I loved the Night of the Living Dead reference "we're coming to get you Barbara!" I thought that was really well placed and really thought through. All the British would probably head for the pub in this scenario, it's so us, it's great.

For a comedy/zom-com(ish) definitely watch this, it's amazing.

[Film] Deadheads (2011) Review

One of the funniest zombie b-movies I have ever seen. The Pierce Brothers really took hold of what they had and manged to create an amazing film.

We follow Mike and Brent who are two 'smart' zombies with the ability to talk and have a conscience, on their journey to try and win back Mike's girlfriend, along with their other - non-smart - zombie friend nicknamed "Cheese". They meet all sorts of problems along the way but they deal with them all in the most hilarious manner I've ever seen.

Brilliant Zom-Com, definitely a must see, with an even funnier bloopers reel at the end.

[Graphic Novel] Night Of The Living Dead: Aftermath, Volume 2

Follow on from NOTLD Volume 1, it's great to see where the characters are going, however, it was left on a cliffhanger so I definitely hope Volume 3 is in the works because I'm starting to get attached to the characters!

The storyline makes you question what people would do in a situation like this. Would they come together? Or go against one another? Especially higher status persons such as the military and the government.

Is it right to experiment on people for the "greater good" to find a "cure" despite the idea being completely morally wrong?

I feel the story really evolved in the second volume, making me itch for the third.

[Graphic Novel] Night Of The Living Dead: Aftermath, Volume 1

Within this graphic novel I love the fact that there is a strong, female character as one of the main characters. Usually we have a damsel in distress with her boobs out, but in this case if it came to zombie killing this is the character I'd love to be.

We follow a couple of characters through their story of how the apocalypse broke out - again - in 1977 a few years after the first sightings of zombies, which slowly dwindled away.

It's based in Las Vegas which is a brilliant place for this to be set in. Who doesn't appreciate a zombie Elvis?

Again, the art work is phenomenal, if you read this graphic novel really take in the detail of all the work, especially at the end in the 'Gallery' section.

MCM Expo - 22/05/2015 - Zombie Buys

This year I went to MCM on the Friday as they now do it as a whole day, it was really fun and very enjoyable. There were quite a few people, but it was not ridiculously packed like it is in the weekend, so if you can go on the Friday I highly recommend it.

The first zombie buy I found was a beautiful hand made charm bracelet by BunnyBeadsUK (she's on Etsy by that name). The charm bracelet is Walking Dead themed. I love the shovel charm, I think this is what sold me as I think the blood on it is a great touch.

This amazing Walking Dead bag!

Then, I went over to Comic Village and got talking to an independent writer. He had a range of books and comics but he told me about his zombie one called Teal and for £3 I couldn't say no. The lovely man even gave me a free zombie book mark of a character in his comic. You can find this comic and others at www.geekycomics.com

Finally, also in Comic Village I found two guys who had compiled a load of zombie stories in one Anthology called Dead Roots, written and drawn by them. They also signed it for me, too.

[Graphic Novel] Empire Of The Dead - Act One

Zombies vs. Humans vs. Vampires.

This graphic novel has Romero written all over it. It has his signature marks that can be seen within his films, for instance, zombies that have remembered behaviour - such as Bub in 'Day of the Dead'.

I'm not a huge vampire fan but this has a different meaning to me than just vampires. Romero gets very political with his vampires, which shows his interest in social themes and political issues. Something that I agree with profoundly - oppression by the higher social classes upon the lower classes, just because they have the wealth and basically, because they can. This issue is huge throughout the world.

There is also reference to Barbara from 'Night of the Living Dead' which I was not expecting and I did appreciate this little tie in.

Overall, a good read and I'm looking forward to Act Two.

The Walking Dead Graphic Novel Volume #23, Whispers Into Screams

I must admit, with the past couple of volumes I've felt a bit lost and felt like things were a bit 'same-y' but, with Volume 23 I feel like things are coming together a bit more now and I understand a lot more of what is going on.

Focus is drifting away from Rick, some favourites are not to be seen, and some nuisances are always there. If you don't think about some of the originals the storyline is getting really good, but, I can't help cling on to the past and wonder what on Earth are they doing?

I do think though, another Survivors' Guide is due.

[Graphic Novel] Recorded Attacks by Max Brooks

Recorded Attacks by Max Brooks (author of World War Z) is a brilliant book/graphic novel and I am so glad that I picked it up. It was a random find in Waterstones and on a whim I thought 'why not?' and bought it.

This book takes real life historical events and makes zombies the reason and purpose for their happening. For instance, Brooks claims that the Egyptians removed the brain from the deceased in order to prevent re-animation. There are also examples including the Romans, who, as Brooks suggests, built Hadrian's wall (cutting off England and Scotland) in order to stop zombies coming onto their land.

Considering I study History at Univeristy, I think this is a brilliant idea for a graphic novel. History and zombies? What a book for me! I really enjoyed reading it. This is one of my favourite zombie graphic novels and I would very much so recommend it to any zombie fan.

Zombie Virus Plush

I first saw this plush a few months ago online but I was gutted as the only ones I could find were from America. Then, low and behold, as a gift from my other half for finishing another year of univeristy - he bought me this!!

It's from the GIANTmicrobes range who do loads of viruses, bacterium etc etc as plush toys 1,000,000x their actual size. It gives a cool history about the virus and I'll post a picture of it below.

They are so cool! I love this Zombie Virus plush, it's a favourite of mine and made me so happy because I didn't think I'd get one! The quality is amazing and the idea is very original.

The Walking Dead - Zombie Money Box

I got this zombie money box as a gift and it's great! I don't use it as a money box, I iust use it as figure on my shelf and it looks proper cool as just that. They also do Michonne and Rick designs. The detail is amazing and I love having it on my shelf as it really does stand out and define the shelf. Or should I say, zombie corner...

Walking Dead Light

As previously stated before I've been in love with Etsy for a while now and I'm finding some great things on there lately, well, just check out this beauty!!

It's a handmade light that says 'The Walking Dead' 'Fight The Dead Fear The Living' with zombies underneath. Because it's made of glass it looks brilliant on its own as a glass ornament, but with the light turned on it looks absolutely phenomenal! You have the option to pick a range of colours for your light - I opted for green because I thought it suited the situation better.

This is one of my staple pieces to my zombie collection and definitely one of my favourites. I am in love with it and I adore it.

If you'd like to get one (they do more than just this, there are loads of other cool lights in stock), check out their Etsy page here: https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/IncredibleInnovation?ref=l2-shop-info-name

Delivery was super quick and they are very talented. I would highly recommend this seller.

[Book] Where's The Zombie? By Paul Moran

I got this book as a gift and it is quite a nifty idea. It's basically 'Where's Wally?' but with zombies. The reader has to find the zombie family in each page of of the apocalypse. It's random and fun and great gift for any zombie enthusiast.

Jason Miller Art - Zombie Originals

Lately I've been browsing the website Etsy and it is such an amazing website. There are loads of handmade items, original art (and prints) and just general, original items that you can't help but fall in love with. Whilst I was browsing through the zombie section of this website I came across an amazing artist called Jason Miller.

Jason Miller sells his ORIGINAL art on sketch cards and larger pieces. Not prints, but originals and I love them! He has loads of zombie drawings and a lot of horror themed/influenced drawings, from movies and television shows. The pictures are brilliantly detailed and worth much more than he asks, so I will definitely be buying more of these. I can tell that Jason Miller is going to be a constant throughout my zombie art collection and I look forward to seeing what he produces next.

Delivery was very quick too.

If you would like to check out his art this is his Etsy page: https://www.etsy.com/people/truetilldeath

Below are the originals I purchased from his store. My pictures of his drawings don't do them justice.

Iconic Zombie Girl from 'Night of the Living Dead'

RV Walker from 'The Walking Dead'

Bicycle Girl from 'The Walking Dead'

[Film] Resident Evil: Apocalypse (2004) Review

The second film in the 'Resident Evil' film franchise. I loved the 'Nemesis' character and who he was in the first film is a very good twist. 'Resident Evil' has an interesting, different take on the original zombie horror as it involves zombies, zombies who are genetically modified and mutated zombies and also the character Alice who is also genetically modified but takes the virus upon differently, making her a superhero type woman, not a zombie.

This film is a great sequel to its predecessor and definitely, so far, so good.

[Film] Resident Evil (2002) Review

Had a bit of a Resident Evil night and watched the first and second films. The first film I thought was really well done. I liked the idea of the 'T-Virus' and the 'T-Virus Anti-Virus', and the whole underground testing lab is exactly how I feel a zombie apocalypse would happen, with people testing and mutating viruses - basically stuff they shouldn't be messing with.

Many people disliked the film due to it not being like the games, but I have never played the games so I went in with a fresh mind and not hoping that the film was going to be like something else. So, with that fresh mind, I thought it was a great film.

Overall, an interesting film and I would watch it again, no hesitation.

Margaret Thatcher Zombie Print

One of my close friends bought me a cool gift the other day - a zombie print of Margaret Thatcher! Considering I despise the Tories and, of course, Thatcher, there is no other way in which I'd like to see her.. Controversial? Who cares. Her whole life was controversial.

I'm going to start an album with all the zombie art that I'm going to collect and buy at conventions, online etc. I already have piece by DEAD ALL OVER which is framed on my wall. Unfortunately I have no idea who drew this or where it came from!

Thank you, Kayleigh!

I shall post updates on the art album.

The Walking Dead - Season 5 Finale

This finale was absolutely brilliant. The viewer is constantly left wondering what on earth is going to happen next. I was nervous the whole time, I'm not a nail biter at all, ever, but this episode resulted in me biting my nails.

Rick is growing stronger and I'm wondering where the series is going to go in correlation to the comics. Is Negan on his way? Or are these thugs just some random group that we haven't come across yet? Tell you what though, they're doing my nut in. Somebody else that is doing my nut in is Father Gabriel. Just, what?! So annoying.

I'm loving the ongoing storyline from Season one regarding Rick and Morgan. I love his whole character and the ambiguity of him. The way he pops up in one season and doesn't in the next. It's simple but brilliant and I'm always so happy to see him.

All in all. A good episode and we can definitely see 'A New Beginning' on the horizon but how long will this last? We'll have to see.

I'm gutted that Season 5 is finally over. I can't believe we have to wait all the way until October to see Season 6. Well, we've done it before. We can do it again.

The Waking Dead - Season 5, Episode 15

So it took me a while to catch up because I've been snowed under by loads of uni essays, work, uni and napping. However I managed to avoid any spoilers for ages now which I am so pleased about.

This episode was good, it's all getting tense right now with Rick and his behaviour. Especially at the end with Michonne, too.
The storyline with Sasha is interesting and I'm hoping it works out but we'll see. So instead of writing more on this post I'm going to watch the season finale!

Geek Mash Interview On Zombies!

Yesterday Geek Mash posted a Q&A with me about my blog and my zombie experiences and thoughts!
It was a fun Q&A and I really enjoyed giving my answers!

The Walking Dead, Season 5 Rant *SPOILER AHEAD*

Firstly, I'm going to shout SPOILER ALERT on this one. I hate spoilers so I never usually write them but I must admit I'm getting a bit impatient with 'The Walking Dead' and I'll tell you why.

After mulling over the latest episode I'm getting a bit fed up with the producers. Don't get me wrong, it's one of my favourite television series of all time but, I feel they need to calm down a bit. In my opinion they are relying too much on the shock factor of a characters death to boost ratings. 'Lets just kill off another black guy because that hasn't been done before.' Tyreese, Bob and Noah have all been killed off now, what is with that? I was gutted when Tyreese died, yes, I cried. I didn't see the point in Bob dying and I feel killing off Noah was a huge mistake. His character had so much potential, literally so much.

I understand that in a zombie apocalypse unexpected things happen. But this is a television series. I wouldn't mind if things were going a bit slow but as long as they were building up a decent storyline. Killing off random, strong and brilliant characters is not going to make the viewer happy. I think they need to start re-thinking before they kill off too many original/decent characters.

The Walking Dead - Season 5, Episode 14

Firstly, apologies for the tardiness.
Secondly, we haven't seen Father Gabriel in a while, now all of a sudden he is here, what the hell is he up to?!
Thirdly, I'm loving Abraham at the minute, and Eugene is really proving himself.
Fourthly, I'm getting ridiculously sick of that selfish mug, Nicholas.
Where was Michonne? Don't really care for Carl... Was happy he wasn't on the screen to annoy me once again.
I'm so sad for Glenn, Tara and Noah.
What is Maggie going to do with that information?
Carol?!?!
The Rick storyline is kind of following the comics...
This episode made me angry! A lot of 'oh no!' and 'what is going on?!' moments. Although I think it has been the best episode thus far since the Mid-Season Finale.
I liked the Romero style of ripping guts from the stomach.

The way I'm writing this shows my thought process because I'm trying to comprehend what just happened, as in, so much happened and I can't get my thoughts down quick enough.

Basically - bring on next week.

How To Make Carol's Cookies

Turns out there is an actual recipe for Carol's Cookies !!! I will definitely be trying these soon. How exciting!

Read about it here: http://blogs.amctv.com/the-walking-dead/2015/03/bake-your-own-batch-of-carols-cookies-with-this-recipe/

The Walking Dead - Season 5, Episode 13

I thought this was actually a really good episode. I must admit I am now tempted to try one of Carol's Cookies - Apple sauce and chocolate, yum? They should actually make these as some type of merchandise, imagine that.
I'm finding it so weird at the moment the fact they're all... clean. I'm just so not used to it now, they all scrub up well don't they? I love this though, the whole 'family' atmosphere and the little gathering. If I end up in a zombie apocalypse I think that's where I'd like to end up. But, I can't understand how they stroll around care free. I would be so on edge at the wall being knocked over by walkers at any minute.
Anyway, there was one awfully sad moment that I couldn't watch, I wish they did that differently.
But in contrast it seems a romance is possibly brewing, I'm not going to say who between, though!

This was an enjoyable episode and I'm looking forward to next week!

Zombie Apocalypse Simulator - Don't Stay In The City!

Cornell University researchers have created a Zombie Apocalypse simulator! They basically concluded what everybody thought really - get out of the cities and head to the Northern Rockies.

It is based in the SIR model as people are either:
(S) = Susceptible,
(I) = Infected or
(R) = Immune.

Although it is pretty obvious that nobody is immune to a zombie apocalypse so there are no (R)'s within this model. They state that there are no viruses that would cause the dead to rise or contribute to a zombie apocalypse (debatable?). However, if there were they believe things would get ridiculously bad, ridiculously fast!

Read more about it here: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2015/03/04/zombie-apocalypse-research-cornell_n_6797952.html

The Walking Dead - Season 5, Episode 12

Pretty decent episode. We see the first shower scene in like, how long? I'm liking where it is at. If there was a zombie apocalypse that's where I would like to be. I'm liking the new Rick. Unsure about what Daryl is thinking. However I can't help but resort back to the comics and wince at the thought of Negan. Oh please don't show up, not for a while. Although I did see Andrew Lincoln say that he might be appearing soon :( it's going to get real, pretty soon.

Random Zombie Purchases

Yesterday was payday so we decided to take a drive up to the local(ish) shopping center, Lakeside. I didn't go with anything zombie related in mind to buy but I suppose that's the time to go because you end up always finding cool stuff.

And on this day of finding cool stuff I found a Walking Dead t-shirt in Primark, yes, in the men's section but they always have cooler clothes than the women! Anyways, I found it for £8 which I'm pretty chufed about.
I also bought this interesting looking book from Waterstones for £7.99 called 'Zombie Apocalypse' by Stephen Jones. Based in England with people's diary entries on their goings on post-apocalypse so after I'm done reading A Song of Ice and Fire (Game of Thrones) series of books I shall start on this series of books.

Pretty good day!

The Walking Dead - Season 5, Episode 11

Brilliant episode. We got to see loads of zombies which I've missed and I'm loving the new character. Love him in the comics too. Rick is being a little bit annoying but I guess he's just over pre-cautious like we would all be.  Can't wait for next weeks episode, things are looking up,

[Television] I Survived A Zombie Apocalypse BBC3

For all you non-Englanders BBC3 has started a new reality TV show where a bunch of people go to a zombie infested area and have to survive seven nights. It looks like it is filmed in a Zombie Run Experience type thing up North. Many of them are up North so this is why I think this.

Don't watch it.

It's a waste of time and absolutely shocking.

To be honest, the idea is good, very good. But during the opening it tells us that the zombie apocalypse started through dodgy WiFi which is a bit of an embarrassing reason. Surely they could have thought of something better. Secondly, they out right stole ideas from their zombie predecessors. They claim that if you find yourself in a zombie apocalypse head for:
A) A Prison - clearly stolen from the TV Show 'The Walking Dead' or
B) A Shopping Mall - taken straight out of George A. Romero's 'Dawn of the Dead'

Come on guys, at least put some thought into it.

Finally, the thing that put me right off the show was the people. They could not have thrown together a worse bunch of people. They are all so stupid it hurts. One girl didn't know what bedding was or what the word 'agile' meant. One, didn't know what a bunk was. One guy claimed that girls chat him up more than he chats them up and one guy boasted how he camped outside for ten nights to meet Lady Gaga. Each to their own I guess. It is embarrassing that BBC3 got these bunch of morons to represent the width and breadth of England. I'm embarrassed, severely embarrassed. The only normal person was the older, blonde lady, she seemed the only decent one in there.

It's sad because I reckon I would have really enjoyed this show, but the bunch of fools on there didn't do it any justice. I think it's safe to say I will not be watching episode 2.

The Walking Dead - Season 5, Episode 10

This episode was a pretty good one. It started off quite sad and depressing after dealing with the previous deaths in other episodes. We see the team get a bit weak and in search for food and water and everyone is going a bit loopy and not acting themselves. I suppose a mix of grief, tiredness and starvation.

However, the end of the episode was unexpected and it's nice to see an element of the comics coming back to the show and the introduction of a lovely character. Well, lovely in the comics, let's hope they still are in the show.

Excited for next weeks episodes now. If the comics are anything to go by things should be looking up soon with lots happening.

The Walking Dead - Season 5, Episode 9

I don't have much to say, for once. Bit brutal for the first show back. Got to see some special guest stars, but other than that, I cried. What an upsetting episode. Really, really sad.

[Film] The Evil Dead (1981) Review

Many people question whether or not The Evil Dead classes as a zombie film but I don't see why it doesn't? It's on Wikipedia in the 'List of Zombie Films' and it has also been noted on the Daily Mail website in an article as a zombie film,
So I'm going to go ahead and call it a zombie film. My reasoning for this is because well, they look exactly like zombies, they bite and eat human flesh - once bitten you inevitably die and come back as one of them. Like Romero's zombies they use tools and weapons to kill. Also, they tell people to 'join us' which, in theory, if zombies could talk that is probably what they would say. Well, after the initial 'braaaaaains.'

This film scared the crap out out of me. I hate anything supernatural and these zombies were of a 'supernatural possession' type of zombie. The way they spoke was horrible and frightening. Regardless of its age it is a cult classic and still worth a watch. I didn't like it because it actually scared me! But that doesn't discredit Raimi as I'm pretty sure that was his intention.

A group of friends go to a cabin in the woods and end up in a hot mess of turning into these zombie creatures. Pretty straightforward but a proper creepy film.

[Film] Dead Snow (2009) Review

Scandinavian film but don't let the subtitles hold you back. I personally don't mind subtitles and I know this can be a real peeve for some but it was fine overall.
For a 'World Cinema' film it is absolutely brilliant. I mean, Nazi Zombies, how could you not love that? Full of gore with an amazing story line it's sort of similar to the Evil Dead, as in a 'cabin in the woods' type story. Where friends go to a cabin in the middle of nowhere and end up facing a horde of evil (in the case) nazi zombies.
Definitely recommend this film. I saw it ages ago but thought I'd post the review now considering Dead Snow 2 just came out and I need to get it!

Be Nosy In My Room! (Well, The Zombie Parts)

I thought you guys might be interested in seeing my zombie stuff as a whole, and I'm pretty proud of it so why not show it off!

Firstly, my famous Zombie Shelf! Which has been upgraded from a shelf, to shelves, to effectively now a corner.. This is where most of my stuff is, my graphic novels, books, DVDs, Walking Dead canvas, DEAD ALL OVER print, Night Of The Living Dead film cell, few random figures. And above it all, looking down, is the Godfather of Zombies - George A. Romero's autograph and picture!
I love this corner to bits - it's the masterpiece of my room.

Secondly, my funko pop shelf consisting of 21 Walking Dead characters! This took me a while to achieve and with the help of some of them being gifts I managed to get all the ones I have wanted so far. The first one I got was Bicycle Girl and the most recent one I got was the Woodbury Walker. I have two exclusives: Biker Daryl who is one of my favourites, and the Michonne and her Pets three set which is another of my favourites. I love these figures. I think they are brilliant figures considering I am not really a collector of figurines, but funko pop has a place in my heart.

Finally, above my bed I have a Walking Dead canvas print with Rick, Daryl, Michonne and Tyreese on it!
